How to Setup Email Accounts in MAC OS X Mail

This article will show you how to configure email accounts in MAC OSX Mail.

First you need to have the following information ready.

  • Your Full Email Address
  • Your Email Password
  • Incoming/Outgoing Server Address and Port Numbers

  1. Open MAC Mail.
  2. Click Mail.
  3. Click Preferences.
  4. Click Accounts.
  5. Click Plus icon located on the bottom left.
  6. Enter the following information:
    • Full Name
    • Email address
    • Password
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Enter the following information for Incoming Mail Server (where yourdomain.com is your registered domain name hosted at Netfirms):
    • Account Type: select POP or IMAP.
    • Incoming mail server: pop.yourdomain.com.
    • User Name: email@yourdomain.com.
    • Password: Your email password.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Enter the following information:
    • Description: Anything you want.
    • Outgoing Mail Server: Ask your provider
    • User Name: Email User Name
    • Password: Email Password
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Verify your settings and Click Create.
