How to Set Up Wi-Fi on a Nintendo Wii Manually
The Nintendo Wii video game console is equipped with Wireless capability to allow the console to connect to the Internet. By connecting your Wii to the Internet, you can download games, surf the Internet, connect with friends around the globe, and get software updates. You can also use your wireless connection to play games online with specific or random users. You can connect your Wii to an existing wireless network by configuring the connection settings of your console.

- Get the router configuration information.
- SSID
- Wireless Encryption Type: WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.
- Wireless Key
- Select the Wii Icon on the bottom left.

- Go to the Wii System Settings 2 Menu and Select Internet.

- Select Connection Settings.

- Select a connection that shows none.

- Select Wireless Connection.

- Select Manual Setup.

- Enter the SSID and select the Right Arrow.

- Select the Wireless Encryption Type.

- Enter the Wireless Key and Select Confirm.

- Select the Right Arrow.

- Select the Right Arrow.
*Most wireless routers are configured to provide an IP Address automatically. If you need to manually configure the IP Address select no and click advanced to configure the IP Address.
- Select the Right Arrow.
*Most wireless routers are configured to provide an DNS automatically. If you need to manually configure the DNS select no and click advanced to configure the DNS.
- Select the Right Arrow.
*Most wireless routers do not require a customer proxy server. If you need to use a proxy server select Use and click advanced to configure the proxy server.
- MTU is the maximum transmission unit. Most configurations will not require this.
- Select Save.

- Select OK to initiate the connection test.

- The Wii will start test your connection.

- If the connection was successful you will see the message below.
- Select Yes.

- Select Use this connection.

- Select Back.
