How to disable Windows Boot Manager

Did you recently install an operating system on seperate hard disk and finally decide it wasn't for you and reformatted the disk.  When you rebooted you were prompted with a operating system startup screen asking you what operating system you want to boot into. You ask yourself why is it asking me what operating system to use when i reformatted.

In this article we will provide instructions on how to prevent the operating system startup screen from asking you which operating system to use.

  1. Click the Windows Icon on the bottom left to get the menu.
  2. Type MSCONFIG in the start search text box and hit enter.
  3. When the User Account Control window appears click continue.
  4. Click on the Boot Tab.
  5. Highlight the operating system you want to boot into automatically without the boot manager.
  6. Click Set As Default.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Click restart for the changes to take affect.
  10. Your all done!
