Asus P6T Mother board with 12GB of Patriot PVT36G1333LLK

So I got this deal on a barebone kit that included the ASUS P6T Motherboard and 12GB Patriot PVT36g1333LLK. The Patriot PVT36g1333LLK is not listed on the Asus QVL.

After getting the kit I was excited to put it all together and after getting everything installed my Windows 7 started giving me BSOD errors.

I called ASUS and they said the memory is not compatible.

I called Tigerdirect -  The service rep was very polite and very good.  Apparently tiger was aware of this issue and had i called earlier they would have swapped out the memory.

I decided to keep the ram and mess with the BIOS setup.  I did the following and it seems to be stable.

Motherboard: Asus P6T

BIOS Version: 0904

1.  Once in the BIOS go to the Ai Tweaker.

2.  Under Ai Overclock Tuner select "Manual". *Do not use the XMP profile.  Did not work for me.

3.  Set the DRAM frequency to 1066Mhz

4.  In the DRAM timing control section set the timing to 7-7-7-20

5.  Once exiting the DRAM timing control set the DRAM Bus Voltage to 1.66

6.  Now save and reboot.  It should work however the setup i used may vary from board to board.

Hope this helps someone.  Took me weeks on and off to figure this out!
